Share your musical work and receive positive, constructive feedback from an uplifting creative community.
Sure, you practice your originals or covers at home. Maybe even in front of your dog. But has your dog ever said your bridge could use a little more rhythmic variation? Or that your lyrics in the second chorus don’t seem to flow as well as the first chorus? If your dog has said either of these, then your dog definitely needs to come and be in our audience. But for us that don’t have music-savant dogs, an uplifting and honest crowd can help you take your artistry to the next level.
Who is it for?
Musicians that are a bit too shy to sing at an open mic at a public bar-type venue.
Singer-songwriters that want to test out some material in front of a new audience before they perform to a larger crowd.
Performers that want to focus on their stage presence. Learning to engage the crowd well beyond sitting or standing still.
Artists seeking input on how to further hone their singing, writing, or instrumental craft.
Aspiring music artists that want to be inspired and encouraged by fellow music artists.
Musicians that would like to find and collaborate with other musicians.
Music lovers that want to listen and support local artists (no feedback required!)
How it works
Each artist gets 10 minutes of stage time. This time can be divided up however the artist would like - for example, 5 minutes of performance, 5 minutes of feedback. If you’d like more feedback, then you would perform for a shorter amount of time and vice versa. After 5 artist performances, there is a 10-minute break.
Stay Classy
This should go without saying; when sharing your feedback, ensure it is done with a positive, uplifting tone. If you’re not used to giving feedback, just observe at first how to offer input in a constructive and encouraging manner. Simply put, no rude behavior or comments will be tolerated.
All types of musicians and music are welcomed to perform.
Cost
$15 for performers
$10 for non-performing audience members
All proceeds go directly back into supporting artists at Maestre.
